ATQ Newsletter: Winter Term 2022

We are so pleased to announce that our ATQ Christmas market was a huge success last month, not only to raise money for our community interest company but to raise awareness and gain support for ATQ too. We hope you had as much fun as we did! We had a fantastic face-painting stall, festive games, hot drinks and so many beautiful stalls from local companies that made the fair truly spectacular! Additionally an amazing storytime from CBeebies’s Mr Bloom which all the children absolutely loved. A big thank you goes out to all of our spectacular volunteers who took part, all of the stallholders and of course everybody that came to support us! We couldn't have done it without the support of all of you. We had such a fun and festive time, overall raising a whopping £1,500 which is truly amazing and will continue to help all of our ATQ students through the new year!

Every penny of every donation, alongside all the proceeds we made at our Christmas Fair goes directly towards our students and their sessions. This is extremely important to us to ensure every student we teach is getting the most out of their sessions. This includes all tutor costs, and equipment such as books and stationery. Additionally, we allocate funding for our students to use our office for independent learning. By opening the top room of our office, we ensure students have a safe and warm place to complete their homework, where biscuits, drinks and laptops are always available for use in a friendly and familiar environment.

If you would like to donate you can do so through this email, our website, easy fundraising (which is no extra cost to you!) or by donating old/ unused laptops. This enables more of our students to be reached over zoom lessons, and increases the laptops available for independent study.

Alongside this absolutely spectacular news, one of our very talented ATQ students just had a Cambridge university interview for English this week, and we could not be prouder. On top of this wonderful news, we have welcomed new ATQ volunteers into our fabulous team and we could not be more grateful. All of our volunteers work so hard to provide such a caring and positive environment for our students and ATQ would not be the same if we didn't have their support!

Thank you once again for all of your continued support, and wishing you all a fabulous new year,

Jo and the ATQ team x
